As a painter, Shauna celebrates beauty through atmosphere, emotion, and story. Whether abstract or representational, her work explores landscapes, skyscapes, soulscapes, and dreamscapes — places where feeling flourishes and the viewer is invited to pause, reflect, and reconnect with life.

Mission

My life is about truth, beauty, and love. Through my work, I strive to bring beauty into the world and create spaces that offer a sense of sanctuary from the outside world. By surrounding people with color, texture, light, and artistry, I hope to enhance well-being and elevate everyday experience.

When I paint, my intention is to reach a deeper place within the viewer — evoking emotion and moving people in a positive and meaningful way.

Background

Shauna is an artist and designer whose work moves seamlessly between architecture and fine art. For over three decades, she has created environments and original works that elevate the experience of a space — bringing together beauty, craftsmanship, and a sense of sanctuary.

Shauna studied fine art at UCLA and holds a degree in Environmental Design (Interior Architecture) from UC Davis. This dual perspective allows her work to move easily between architectural surfaces and large-scale decorative features to intimate commissioned paintings for private collectors.

Shauna taught at regional colleges and national industry events, sharing her expertise with artists working in the field of decorative art. In 2004, she founded Northern California’s only dedicated decorative art school, where she developed a professional curriculum focused on specialty finishes. Her work was also published that year as the lead artist in Decorative Finishes by Sunset Books, and has been featured on both local television and the DIY Network’s home improvement series House Crashers.

Throughout her career, Shauna’s work has shaped expansive residences, custom interiors, and private collections. From architectural finishes and hand-crafted surfaces to original works created for collectors, her projects are defined by thoughtful composition, material depth, and a refined sense of balance.

Today, her practice increasingly centers on studio painting while she continues to accept a limited number of projects that align with her vision — both specialty finishes and art commissions.

She divides her time between California and Arizona, continuing a lifelong exploration of art, architecture, and the spaces where they meet.
